What you can expect
At the Coach Chris Bennett Academy, our top priority is learning and development, not just winning. We create an environment where players focus on growing their skills and understanding the game before focusing on outcomes. Here’s what you can expect:
-
5 hours of Training Sessions Per Week (Minimum): Consistent, focused sessions to ensure steady progress and skill-building.
-
Professional Coaching: Led by Coach Chris Bennett, with over 10 years of experience, ensuring expert guidance in every session.
-
Safe and Supportive Environment: A place where players are encouraged to learn, improve, and challenge themselves in a positive atmosphere.
Development-Focused Approach: We build players around three key pillars:
-
Fitness: Commitment to being the fittest team on the field ALWAYS; Increase each players low base cardio with and without the ball & sprint work to be able to deliver on demand transitional runs.
-
2 Touch: 50%+ of every session will be exclusively in 2 touch format; Improve on field awareness, decision making, increase number of touches, intent of movement on/off ball & team work.
-
Tactical Understanding: Provide information to players on how to CREATE SPACE BEHIND OPPOSITIONS BACKLINE CONSISTENTLY; Opp. backline triggers and responses, Defensive shape recoveries and releases & Counter attack using penetrative passing, 1v1s & finishing.
While winning is important, our focus is always on learning first. We believe that when players develop their skills, the results will follow naturally. Each session will have specific practice and game day aims, with a focus on growth rather than just the final score. Examples include; Recovery to defensive shape, Receiving on the half-turn, Pressing responsibilities, 2nd level runners etc.
These tactical and technical aims will be emphasized to help players understand the game at a deeper level and apply what they’ve learned during competition.

Fundraising Commitment
Fundraising is an essential part of our program, with the goal of covering all tournament costs and eventually ensuring the academy is cost-free for all players. Here’s how it works:
-
Tournament Fundraising:
-
Each team participates in 6 tournaments per season (entry fees average $600 per tournament).
-
Total cost per team, per season = $3,600.
-
Our goal is to raise enough funds to cover these tournament expenses entirely.
-
-
Future Team Fundraising:
-
After covering the current season’s costs, we’ll focus on fundraising for the next season.
-
The ultimate goal: By year two, no player pays anything out of pocket.
-
